Major Hike at Tarak Ridge (1,130+) | Bataan

February 17, 2017

After all you put me through,
You think I’d despise you,
But in the end I wanna thank you,
‘Cause you’ve made me that much stronger

Fighter – Christina Aguilera
I felt badass.

If I were to describe Tarak Ridge Hike with a song, it will be one of Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter” because it made me more resilient, tougher and all the adjectives synonymous to strong.

Hikers, mountaineers, climber or whatever-you-call-a-person-who-loves-reaching-the-summits, I know you’ve been through the phase when you hated yourselves wondering why you even joined that hike. Those thoughts came out along with misery as we struggle to reach the peak, that’s why, one must be physically, mentally and emotionally fit.

My first major hike!

And if you’re planning to hike Tarak Ridge in Mariveles, Bataan, exercise, run for 15-30 minutes, do 50 squats then 50 lunges every day, a week before your climb, and I’m sure the hike will just be a piece of cake. Going back to my real goal in writing this blog post which is to entice you of how breath-taking Tarak is.

It was too windy at the summits that’s why I didn’t have the chance to bring my tarp out.

Though Tarak made me wanna cry, it also made me way stronger that I used to be.

Till my next hike!
